Catholicos Karekin I Visits Moscow

YEREVAN (Azg)–Catholicos Karekin I will arrive from in Moscow from Austria on Tuesday–said leader of the Moscow and New Nakhijevan diocese Tiran Archbishop Kiureghian.

The main goal of his visit is the exhibition in the Kremlin–dedicated to the 1,700th anniversary of accepting Christianity in Armenia as a state religion. Leaders of the Armenian and Russian churches will open the exhibition on Tuesday which is scheduled to last until August 13.

The Catholicos also plans to meet with the local Armenian communities and the construction site of an Armenian church on Trifonov street.

Rev. Tiran’said that architect Jim Torosian was chosen to do the work. A fund has been created to collect financing for construction of the church.
