US Ministry of Agriculture to Promote Import of Armenian Wines

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The US Ministry of Agriculture will promote the import of Armenian wines "Noravank"–"Getap" and "Areni."

The "Areni" will be imported into Ohio starting September–reported the USDA advisor on marketing Willy Brown.

These wines were selected at a wine-tasting initiated by the US Ministry of Agriculture. Seven wines produced at the most well-known wineries of Armenia and two French wines were presented. Armenian wines "Noravank,"Getap,"Areni" and "Arevshat" won the first four place prizes.

The tasters–representatives of embassies and foreigners working at international organizations–were surprised–because the well-known French wines "Cabernet" and "Bordeux" earned only the 6th and 9th places respectively.

According to Brown–the US Ministry of Agriculture together with the "Armenian Farmer" association is implementing a project to export fruit from Armenia. Apricot exports to Dubai are already underway.
