Armenia in Grave Socio Economic State Says NICU Member

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Our undertaking is not aimed against any one party–political force or person," Aghasi Arshakian–a member of the Board of the Scientific-Industrial and Civil Union–said at a rally initiated by the Democratic Accord on Establishment of the New Russia-Belarus-Armenia Union held in Yerevan’s Liberty Square Friday.

The member of that organization’s administration–Manoucharian–described the heavy socio-economic situation as the new Sardarabad. In his opinion–the Armenian people are now in a grave state–like that in the beginning of the century.

Deputy of the Russian State Duma–member of the Initiative Group on Armenia’s Joining the Russia-Belarus Union–Telman Gdlian–believes the departure of nearly a million Armenia’s from their native country can be called a "white collar genocide."

According to him–joining the Russia-Belarus Union–Armenia will retain its independence acquiring military potential and a common economic space with powerful states.

The organizers of the rally called on those present to contribute to the holding of a national referendum on that question by signing petition forms.
