YEREVAN ("Hayots Ashkharh" daily)–Vahan Hovanessian’s public lawyer–Bagrat Yesayan–reported Wednesday that the health of his defendant has deteriorated since July 17–and that he may have suffered a mild heart attack.
According to Yesayan–Hovanessian has complained of a sharp drop in blood pressure–pain in the left part of his body–and numbness of his hands and feet.
Hovanessian was reported to have received medical attention from prison authorities–and after being unable to help him–was told to refrain from physical activity and stress to avoid further complication.
Defense lawyers believe that proper treatment for Hovanessian’s condition cannot be possible in prison–and that a conference of coronary specialists is required as soon as possible to diagnose Hovanessian’s condition and prescribe adequate treatment.
