Madenataran Employees Request Markarian’s Freedom

YEREVAN (Hayots Ashkhar)–In a letter addressed to Levon Ter-Petrosyan–academicians and employees of the St. Mashdot’s Madenataran requested Hrant Markarian’s freedom.

In the letter the concerned individuals spoke of national accord and democratic rule in the process of strengthening Armenia’s independence and freedom–as well as in finding a resolution to the Armenian Cause.

"We–believe–that the key to national and political accord is in your (Levon Ter-Petrosyan) hands. You also possess the command to use that key–and the first step toward that is to grant freedom to Karabakh freedom fighter Hrant Markarian," said the writers.

"We are assured that our request will be call to you to move toward national cooperation and accord," concluded the letter.

The signatories were: Madenataran Director Sen Arevshatian–Department Directors Dr. Hravard Hakobian–Dr. Vartan Grigorian–Dr. Artashes Martirossian–Senior Scientists Prof. Edward Baghdasarian–Prof. Elenora Haroutiunian–Prof. Vartan Devrikian–Prof. Arpenik Ghazarosian and Prof. Artashes Matevosian.
