ARF Takes Part in Black Sea Political Assembly

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia took part–for the first time–in the Black Sea Moderate Left Political Organizations Assembly–held in Kubulet–Georgia last weekend.

Also participating from Armenia was the Democratic Party of Armenia.

The Assembly in a statement signed by a majority of the parties in the organization–declared its support for the activities of the ARF Executive Council of Armenia.

Executive Council representative to the Assembly Vartan Petrosian said that the Assembly in a resounding manner declared its support for the ARF during the political party’s difficult times in Armenia–and in addition the statement expressed support and voiced concerns for Vahan Hovanessian.

Petrosian expressed his gratitude and noted the importance of the statement–adding that the political parties stand by the ARF–a democratic and national party.

According to DPA chairman Aram Sargssian–the Assembly granted the two Armenian parties member-observer status–with full membership slated to be discussed in Athens within the next six months during the organization’s board meeting.
