YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian artists gathered in Komitas Pantheon at the tomb of the great Armenian filmmaker Sergey Parajanov to mark his 74th birthday–Friday.
The same day at the Yerevan "Nairi" theater–the documentary "The Last Collage" dedicated to Sergey Parajanov’s life was screened.
According to Director of the Parajanov Museum Zaven Sargssian–next year the tomb will be replaced by a bronze bust created by Ara Shiraz. These works will be sponsored by the Yerevan City Council and Armenia’s residing in Moscow. The latter have already donated $4,000 for this purpose.
Starting Jan.–Parajanov’s films will be screened at "Nairi" every day.
Sargssian also reported that the Parajanov Museum has turned into the Parajanov Art Center. Exhibits of the museum tend to increase in number as relatives of the filmmaker bring new ones to the museum. Museum employees organized about 25 exhibitions in different countries.
Sargssian mentioned that Tbilisi and Kiev also plan on opening Parajanov museums.
