YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–An International Monetary Fund delegation–visiting Armenia–led by Mark Swinburn met with Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Central Bank of Armenia executives–Tuesday.
During the meeting the President of the Armenian Central Bank Bagrat Assatrian outlined major tendencies in Armenia’s financial-crediting policies in 1998–as well as spoke about issues pertaining to interest rates and allocation of credits to the government. Assatrian also described the role of the Central Bank in the development of the Armenian banking system.
The IMF delegation will stay in Armenia for two weeks.
