YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian National Movement is benefiting from the recent acts of terrorism as well as the differences over the Karabakh issue and the socio-economic crisis–said Hrair Karapetian–a representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Executive Council of Armenia.
According to him–the ANM statement issued on January 21 implies that the ANM is not satisfied with the prime minister’s policy in appointing his cabinet.
"There probably are posts in Armenia to which ANM members are not appointed," Karapetian said.
He viewed the ongoing socio-economic crisis as a result of the "consistent" policies pursued by the ANM-dominated authorities.
Karapetian said he believed that unlike the previous governmen’s–this cabinet has made some progress in balancing the budget recently due to its consistent tax and customs policy.
"This fact should be hailed–but this is just a momentary achievement. The approach should be a generalized one–staff policy also should be involved as all professionals had left their leading positions because of their political views," he emphasized.
Denouncing any kind of terrorism in Armenia–Karapetian–however–declined to comment on the recent terrorism–saying one would be able to draw conclusions after the investigation was complete.
He observed that any politician who jumps to conclusions violates the presumption of innocence.
"That is up to law-enforcement bodies," Karapetian concluded.
