Hovanessian Hairikian Appointed Presidential Advisors

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian issued two decrees Monday appointing Vahan Hovanessian and Baruyr Hairikian as his advisors–Azg daily newspaper reported.

Hovanessian has been reportedly placed in charge of public relations–while Hairikian will head the presidential human rights commission–a consultative body intended to protect human rights and freedoms–consider complaints concerning human rights violations and make annual reports on the human rights situation in the country.

Hairikian will also lead the current judicial reform and coordinate preparations for the planned constitutional reform.
