Armenian Genocide Marked in Brussels

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Archbishop David Sahakyan delivered holy liturgy on April 24 in commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the Armenian church of Brussels. The ceremony was attended by Armenia’s Ambassador to Benelux countries Vigen Chitechian–embassy staff–member founders of the Belgium-Armenia Friendship Society–members of the Armenian Committee and Armenian Assembly of Belgium–members of Armenian communities from all over the Netherlands–hundreds of Belgians and Dutch–Armenia’s foreign ministry reported.

Wreaths were placed at the memorial "Khachkar" in Brussels. The ceremony was attended by Belgian Senate Deputy Chairman F. Manu–who is co-author of the resolution on the Armenian Genocide adopted by the Belgian Senate–and representatives of the Brussels City Council.

The same day Brussels-based newspapers published articles devoted to the Genocide. More than 300 Armenia’s participated in a demonstration at the Turkish embassy in Brussels.
