BSEC Foreign Ministers Begin Meeting in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–With opening remarks by Armenia’s Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian–the BSEC Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Yerevan Meeting began on April 30 in the Reception House of the government building.

The representatives of all member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation–except Azerbaijan–participated in the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of Slovenia and Egypt with BSEC observer status.

The principal purpose of the meeting is the signing of the BSEC Charter. "The acceptance of the Charter by the members of BSEC will transform our economic cooperation into an organization," Oskanian said. The Charter is scheduled to be approved in the June 4-6 Yalta Summit of BSEC.

Another issue to be discussed by the BSEC Foreign Affairs Ministers is to assign the country–other than Azerbaijan–to take the chairmanship from Armenia.
