“Mars” Enterprise to be Sold to Vatche Manoukian

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A businessman from England Vatche Manoukian is conducting negotiations in Yerevan to purchase the "Mars" enterprise–an electronics production company–the Minister of Industry and Trade–Garnik Nanagoulian told Noyan Tapan. Nanagoulian said that the negotiations will continue for another 2-3 months.

The minister reported that both the enterprise and the adjacent territory will be sold. As a result–an industrial complex occupying almost 70 hectars will be set up that will embrace a number of high technology production plants. Their products will mostly be exported. Therefore–a special economic zone will be created providing a number of customs and other privileges. The minister said that the technical possibilities and equipment of the "Mars" enterprise will also be used as much as possible.

"Mars" is involved in the production of electronics and precision instrument-making and was listed among the 13 enterprises the government plans to sell through the international tender. However–no bids were made for the purchase of this enterprise.
