Kocharian Meets Russian Border Patrol Delegation

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian Monday received the visiting director of the Federal Border Service of Russia–Colonel-General Nikolai Bordyuzh–and the delegation led by him to discuss further cooperation between Russia and Armenia in border protection.

Highly assessing the level of cooperation between the Armenian authorities and the headquarters of the Russian border troops–the general presented his approaches toward further cooperation. President Kocharian pointed to the importance of the joint protection of the frontier.

Also–attending the meeting were Armenia’s Interior and National Security Minister Serge Sargssian; the chief of the border protection department of the Ministry of the Interior and National Security–border troops commander–Major-General Levon Stepanian and Russia’s ambassador to Armenia Andrei Ournov.
