Outgoing Chinese Ambassador Darbinian Discuss Relations

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Prime Minister Armen Darbinian met Wednesday with the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia–Yang Kerung–who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

On behalf of the government–Darbinian expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese diplomat for his work–saying that for the period of his mission in Armenia foundations for Armeno-Chinese bilateral relations had been established. Darbinian highly regarded the level of relationship between the two countries in the political and economic spheres–pointing to the high potential for their development.

According to the Armenian prime minister–concrete proposals for cooperation in the spheres of energy and the mining and smelting industry are under serious discussion now. The prime minister assured that further relations between Armenia and China will be of the same business character–stressing Kerung’s contribution to that factor.

The Chinese Ambassador–in turn–expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for the warm reception and good words–as well as for the assistance from the Armenian government during his term in office. The Ambassador felt that there is a firm legal basis for developing and strengthening of relations between the two countries.

The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in various economic spheres.
