American Investmen’s in Armenia Continue to Grow

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– There are 45 American enterprises which are actively operating in Armenia today–the outgoing ambassador of the United States to Armenia–Peter Tomsen–said during his farewell news conference on Thursday–while discussing the considerable growth of American investmen’s in Armenia’s economy.

The ambassador pointed to the importance of the participation of a large international corporation in the sale of two Armenian hotels. Among investment programs–Tomsen mentioned–a multi-million dollar program on semi-conductor production–and a program on geoprospecting for gold and oil (the cost of both programs is over $50 million).

According to the American diplomat–the OPIC organization is expected to allocate funds to organize juice packaging in Armenia.

There are investment programs of lower volumes–including the "Jermuk" investment program worth $1 million.
