Chinese Government Delegation Businessmen to Visit Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A government delegation and a group of businessmen from the Jiangsi province of the Chinese People’s Republic are due to visit Armenia between August 29 and September 2 at the invitation of Armenia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. The goal of the visit is to establish mutually advantageous cooperation in different branches of industry and trade.

An official of the Ministry of Industry and Trade–Garik Melkonian–told Noyan Tapan that the protocol on cooperation in the sphere of conversion signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Armenia and the Committee on Defense Science–Engineering and Industry of the People’s Republic of China–last August–will serve as the basis for the establishment of cooperation. It is planned that cooperation will be established in the sphere of production and trade by commercial and cash calculation systems–computers–small agricultural machinery–meters–water and gas gauges–transport vehicles–motor cars–and also in the sphere of poultry farming–cattle-breeding and other branches of agriculture.

The delegation will visit enterprises that are of interest from the point of view of establishing ties: "Hrazdan" private company–"Impuls" private company–"Dvin" Concern private company–"Electron" private company–"Electrotochpribor" public company–"Armelectroapparat" public company–"Zvartnots" private company–"Connect" private company–"Bazalt" private company–"Yerevancable" private company–"Sirius" public company–"Chapich" public company and others.

It is planned that cooperation will be established between the Chinese province of Jiangsi and the Armenian Kotayk region. According to Melkonian–the Kotayk region embraces the most various geographical zones and is represented best from the point of view of industrial and agricultural potential.

During the visit–a series of official meetings with the prime minister of Armenia and cabinet members will be organized. A protocol addressing the finalized agreemen’s will be signed as a result of the visit.
