Karabakh’s Defense Ministry Denies Incident in Conflict Zone

STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–The press-service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan spread a report that–on Wednesday–an Armenian reconnaissance party of 15-20 people allegedly made an attempt to penetrate the disposition of Azeri units in the Aghdam region–but ran into an ambush–leaving two people dead and two wounded. It was also reported that the day before–on Tuesday–the positions of the Azeri army in the Ter-Ter region were shelled. However–the press-service of the Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh states that the sighted "facts" are faulty.

As was earlier reported by the Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh–planned exercises of the Karabakh armed forces are being conducted in the republic from September 25 to October 15 during which preparations to counter enemy attacks is being practiced.

"The press-service of the Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh confirms that during the last month the personnel of the Karabakh Defense Army didn’t suffer human losses–while for the period of troops exercises no incidents connected with actions of any reconnaissance party or shelling of positions was registered in the Azeri-Karabakh conflict zone," read a statement released by the press-service of the Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh.
