Washington Post Distorts Armenian Prime Minister’s Statement

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan). There are inaccuracies in the article which was published in The Washington Post newspaper in connection with the statemen’s Armenian Prime Minister Armen Darbinian made in Washington–the prime minister’s press-service reported. According to the Associated Press agency–The Washington Post quoted Darbinian as saying–"If Turkey would admit it massacred 1.5 million Armenia’s in World War I–the two countries could establish diplomatic relations–he said in a speech this week in Washington. If Azerbaijan would agree that the Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh ‘cannot be part of Azerbaijan,’ the ancient rivals could get along."

According to the prime minister’s press service–Darbinian didn’t speak of any preconditions in connection with the establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey.
