Mutal Cooperation Stressed by Speaker

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The current reforms in different spheres are irreversible and we expect our compatriots to assist us in developing these reforms–Speaker of the Parliament Khosrov Haroutiunian said during his meeting Monday with a delegation of Armenian Revolutionary Federation representatives who arrived in Armenia from different countries. The delegation was led by an ARF Bureau member Apo Boghigian.

Pokhikian reported that the chief purpose of the delegation is to promote the country’s economic progress–and relevant work is currently being done in that direction.

Haroutunian stressed that the time when humanitarian assistance was sent to Armenia is in the past–and the mutually-advantageous cooperation is necessary for Armenia. He added that such steps on the part of Diasporan Armenia’s may contribute to the matter of raising the international community’s confidence in Armenia. Armenia can be not only an economic–but also a political partner–the speaker said.

Thereafter–Haroutunian briefed the guests on the reforms in the judicial–banking and other spheres as well as the principles of the securities market formation and privatization and answered their questions.
