200 Enrolled in International Accounting Program

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A program developed by the International Accountancy Teaching Center– sponsored by TACIS–is aimed at training and preparing accountants qualified up to international standards.

The head of the Yerevan-based center–Roy Dodge–told Noyan Tapan another six teachers were expected to join the 16 Armenian teachers already teaching at the center.

The Brussels-based office of TACIS reported that the program would be extended until the conclusion of the two-year long curriculum. Thereafter–Armenian specialists were expected to take charge of the center.

The center launched its program in January in cooperation with the Yerevan State University. The center currently offers two program: a two-year accountancy teaching for individuals with higher education and a program for accountants with eight subjects taught within eight weeks. Some 200 students are currently enrolled in the programs which started in September.
