Bayer Interested in Armenia’s Resources

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The German company Bayer has expressed interest in Armenia’s deposits of molybdenum. The company’s representative visited the Kajaran integrated industrial complex.

Negotiations are expected to take place in November to discuss a site for the construction of a new plant–type of property. The government has pledged to work out all obstacles–announced deputy minister of industry and trade–Movses Dzavarian said at a news conference.

The company also produces rubber–and the Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to discuss issues related to the Nairit Rubber plant during the November talks.

Dzavarian also noted that an agreement which was signed with the Swiss Andre group aimed at assisting the agricultural produce processing sector. This company is projected to have a 25 percent interest in the agro-production programs.

Representatives of the Japanese Mitsubishi company–currently on a working visit to Armenia–expressed interest in developing Armenia’s energy heavy industry sectors.
