YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Central Electoral Committee of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Tuesday called elections for Dec. 27 to fill four vacant seats in the Karabakh National Assembly.
Karabakh CEC chairman Mushegh Ohanjanian told Noyan Tapan that the decision was made based on the Law on Status and Election of Deputies to the National Assembly.
The elections will fill four vacancies in the parliament since representatives Michael Hambartsoumian–Novella Hambartsoumian–Sergey Arzoumanian and Karen Gharibian resigned before the completion of their terms.
Ohanjanian reported that elections were scheduled in 10th electoral district in Stepanakert–the 19th electoral district in Medztaglar–21st electoral district in Martuni and the 23rd electoral district in Kishi. The four outgoing parliamentarians represented the aforementioned districts.
According to a schedule introduced by the CEC–nominations should begin on November 18 and completed by December 7.
