Yerevan Press Club Blasts Aravot Newspaper

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan–Armenpress)–The leaders of Yerevan Press Club Wednesday blasted the Aravot newspaper for continuously distorting statemen’s made by the press club.

The press club leaders said that Aravot was pursuing the same divisive policies as the previous regime in Armenia and alluded that the newspaper was even guided by the same entities.

"It is not worth believing all that Aravot writes about the Yerevan Press Club," said club president Boris Navasardian.

The club president pointed out that in the past Aravot worked under the orders of the former regime to damage those entities which did not support the regime. The same targets remain–except most now support the government.

"I don’t believe that the current leadership has any ties with Aravot newspaper," stressed Navasardian.

The Yerevan Press Club issued an announcement Monday detailing the instances of distortions by the Aravot newspaper.
