ARF to Become Bridge Between Labor Government

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation has decided to act as a bridge between the leadership and labor–announced ARF Executive Council of Armenia chairman Vahan Hovanessian during seminar devoted to labor issues Thursday.

The seminar–entitled contemporary issues facing Armenian economy and business reforms–was organized with the assistance of Armenia ministries–the National Academy of Sciences–research centers and labor organizations.

Hovanessian stressed that the purpose of the seminar was to make the voice of labor heard within government circles–through which labor concerns would be addressed. The seminar also aimed at addressing the government’s concerns with the labor force.

Hovanessian–also a presidential advisor–clarified that there was no law suggesting that non-working privatized entities could not be re-evaluated and considered for taxation.

Hovanessian rejected the idea to non-privatize already privatized companies–stating that "the Armenian people are tired of breaking things."

Hovanessian opined that reforms were needed in the said realms and turned to the scientific community for assistance in finding solutions.
