Armenian Kurds Deny Presence of PKK Camps on Armenian Soil

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Kurdish women in Armenia’staged Friday a rally in the Liberty Square of Yerevan which then moved to the UN building. During the march demonstrators cried out traditional slogans: "Turkey is terrorist,"America is terrorist,"Long live PKK!"

Demonstrators denied Turkey’s allegations that Armenia hosts PKK camps on its soil and called them a deliberate provocation.

Kurds–who 10 days ago went on a hunger-strike in front of the UN building–voiced their discontent over the fact that a representative of the United Nations in Armenia had not visited the strikers.

Demonstrators also cried out "Long live the century-old friendship of Armenian and Kurdish peoples." Speakers noted that there have always been conditions for development of the Kurdish people.

A representative of Azat Hayk Arakelutiun organizations called on all countries which suffered from the Turkish yoke to support the struggle of the Kurdish people and voiced hope that Greece and Armenia would be among those countries.
