Conference on Disabled Children to Be Held in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– The international conference scheduled for May 3-5 in Yerevan will be dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the first rehabilitation center in Armenia. The conference will be attended by Armenian–US–Swiss and German’specialists.

The conference is initiated by the Republican Children’s Rehabilitation Center–Swiss humanitarian organization VID with financial assistance from the French and Swiss departmen’s of the Rotary Club. The major goal of the conference is to exchange knowledge.

According to director of the Rehabilitation Center Vanik Gevorkian–such humanitarian organizations as ADRA (Germany)–Project Hope (USA) and VID (Switzerland) helped much in the establishment and development of the Center after the Spitak earthquake.

The Center is a basic medical establishment where 3,000 disabled children are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
