Homenetmen Holds Seventh General Meeting

The 7th annual Homenetmen general meeting got underway on March 31st at the St. Mary’s monastery in Adma. Present at the general meeting was Right Reverend–Kegham Khatcherian–from Lebanon–representatives Jack Chookhadarian and Sebouh Hovnanian–along with Armenian ambassador to Lebanon Arman Navasartian–the Homenetmen central executive–delegates from 16 chapters along with honored guests and members from affiliated and sister organizations.

After the opening speech form Misak Arzoomanian on the behalf of the Central Executive–a special ceremony to honor three distinguished members took place. After the ceremony–Armenia’s ambassador to Lebanon–Arman Navasartian also gave a speech.

Next–the guests took their places in the meeting hall where the general meeting got underway. The election of a divan took place in the following fashion. The two chosen chairs were Kevork Mangelian from Canada–and Karnig Mgrdichian from Lebanon. The secretaries elected were Maral Digbigian and Manoug Isgenderain from Syria–from the Eastern United States Hagop Khatchadourian and Maro Keshishian from the Western United States.

Later on the election of the sub-committees took place–and work was assigned to each committee. Thus–the general committe concluded its first day of activity.
