ARF Leader Condemns NATO Airstrikes On Yugoslavia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation strongly protests against NATO airstrikes–since military escalation in the center of Europe may lead to the resumption of a "Cold War," vice-representative of the ARF’s Executive Council Armen Roustamian told Noyan Tapan. Roustamian said that the United States should realize that there is no imposing conditions on the world by means of force.

Roustamian said that representatives of the ARF’s Executive Council had meetings with representatives of the Russian embassy in Armenia–during which the developmen’s in Yugoslavia were also discussed. According to him–the Russian side is going to continue to push for cessation of NATO airstrikes on Yugoslavia.

Roustamian also spoke about upcoming elections. He said that there are no serious grounds for boycotting elections.

Commenting on statemen’s by a number of parties–which plan to boycott the elections–Roustamian said that these parties and politicians–foreseeing their defeat in the elections–pave the way for declaring the future parliament illegitimate.

Roustamian positively estimated the establishment of PPA-RPA bloc–saying that now it will be easier for voters to make their choice–although–according to him–this bloc is an unusual one–because it includes one opposition and one pro-governmental party.
