UNHCR Sends Representative to Macedonia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– Arman Haroutiunian–of the UNHCR Armenia-based office–will leave for the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia on April 9–with a humanitarian mission. The office reported that the reason for his departure to Macedonia is the persisting problem of Albanian refugees which is becoming increasingly serious.

The same source reported that Arman Haroutiunian will take part in the work of the UNHCR Macedonia-based office which is currently launching large-scale activities aimed at providing the Albanian refugees with shelters–food and other assistance. The report says that the humanitarian activities will be implemented in close cooperation with other international organizations.

The UNHCR Armenia-based office is grateful to Arman Haroutiunian for his commitment and readiness to embark on this challenging task.
