Armenian President US Delegation Discuss Peace Process

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– President Robert Kocharian met Tuesday with a regional security delegation from the United States. The sides discussed issues involving the settlement of the Karabakh conflict as well as those of regional cooperation and security. The delegation arrived in Armenia within the framework of the yearly dialogue between the Armenian and US governmen’s concerning regional security. This was the third such meeting.

Kocharian pointed out the dynamic development of peace processes in the region but stressed that there are still many sensitive spots.

Defense Minister Vazgen Sargssian met Monday with a delegation of the United States Department of State led by assistant undersecretary of State for regional issues Robert Bigroft.

The delegation is visiting Armenia to participate in an annual dialogue between the governmen’s of Armenia and the United States.

The sides discussed issues pertaining to Armenia-NATO cooperation within the framework of Partnership for Peace program–regional security and other issues of mutual interest.
