STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)– A contest of young musicians jointly arranged by the "SOS Armenie" and "Amadeus" international organizations will be held in Stepanakert on April 17-25.
It will be the second similar concert organized in Nagorno Karabakh. The first one was organized by the "Amedeus" organization in 1994. Children aged 7-18 and divided into three groups will participate in the contest. The jury–which will consist of experienced teachers–will choose the best performers (pianists–vocalists–dancers–choirs etc..).
Chairman of the jury Hovhanes Anastasian (a citizen of Belgium) pointed out the important role of the young people’s creative work in the development of society–strengthening the national spirit and maintaining traditions. We should develop a sense of beauty in the children–help the talented young people realize their creative potential. Being musically cultured is an important component of a person’s being generally cultured," Anastasian said.
The winners will be awarded diplomas–medals–T-shirts with the "Amadeus" emblem and money prizes ($100 to $450).
The contest will end with a gala concert.
