Azeri Special Services Hire Foreign Spies

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–BBC radio–quoting head of the Azeri National Security Ministry press service Kurbanov–said that special services of Azerbaijan hire professionals who are ardent enemies of Armenia to spy for Azerbaijan.

The Armenian Interior & National Security Ministry reports that criminal proceedings have been instituted against another "professional," a citizen of Georgia Gela Aladashvili–who confessed to being recruited by Azerbaijani special services in 1998 in Baku. He said that he traveled to Azerbaijan to settle some financial problems with a certain Azeri national. At that time Azerbaijani special services spotted and recruited him. Aladashvili was assigned to obtain information about concrete facilities of the Armenian Defense Ministry and then sent to Armenia.
