YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Movsissian and Norikhito Sone–Advisor–Japanese Embassy in Moscow signed an agreement late last week on Japanese government’s granting Armenia 300 million yen.
The minister pointed out that it will be the third grant to be received by Armenia and thanked the Japanese people and government. He reported that the grant will be spent on purchasing fertilizers and small-sized multipurpose farm machinery. Movsissian also reported that production-technical centers are being established in the regions to serve the farms. The purchased farm machinery will be concentrated in these centers.
The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture concluded cooperation agreemen’s with many countries and expressed willingness to sign a similar agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture of Japan.
Norikhito Sone pointed out that Japan is ready to discuss the issue of concluding an agreement with Armenia. Armenia will present the drafts of the agreement.
