YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–On April 30 the management of the "Armenia" hotel represented by the Marriot international company and the hotel staff-members signed a new labor contract. The provisions of the contract concern the retraining of the personnel and retention of employment places as well as bringing the level of hotel service up to international standards and the switch-over to the international work results assessment system–the press release signed by the representative of the Marriot company Anil Sampat and the chairman of the hotel trade union committee–Vigen Kazarian says. The contract stipulates social and other kinds of allowances for the employees.
The press release also says that on the occasion of the May-Day celebrations all staff-members will receive financial rewards. The conclusion of a contract that would allow the staff-members to retain their places of employment is the reason for numerous complaints to the hotel management and state departmen’s during the last few months.
Vigen Kazarian gave assurances that the labor contract is the display of mutual confidence and good-will–and the staff-members are willing to cooperate with the Marriot company. The same document says that from the moment the Marriot company assumed management of the hotel the staff-members have been witnesses to numerous innovations in hotel service.
