Western Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian accompanied by Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee member Avedis Ispenjian visited the Lebanese Consulate General last Thursday at 2:30 p.m. to congratulate the newly-appointed Consul General Dr. Jon Makaron.
Also part of the visiting delegation were St. Garabed Church Parish priest Rev. Viken Vassilian and Prelacy Executive Council member Garo Avakian.
On behalf of the Western Prelacy and the Prelacy Executive Council–Bishop Mardirossian congratulated Makaron on his new appointment and wished him a fulfilling term. Ispenjian congratulated the Consul General on behalf of the ARF Western US Central Committee–noting the dedication of Lebanese-Armenia’s for the betterment of Lebanon and its Armenian communities.
Makaron thanked the delegation and stressed the importance of the role of the Armenian community in Lebanon–the strong ties with the Holy See of Cilicia–and the decisive input of the Armenian community in the rebuilding process in Lebanon.
At the end of the meeting–the Lebanese Consul General expressed his readiness to continue the established working relationship and in every way be a part of the Los Angeles Armenian community life.
