Mammography Center to Receive New Equipment

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–In the last two years the Armenian-American Mammography Center in Yerevan examined 8,000 women–detecting breast cancer in 8.3 percent of them. Vice-President of the Association of Women’s Health–Dr. Nani

Oskanian announced that new equipment will be installed at the center enabling doctors to determine the quality of impalpable latent neoplasm. A number of the Center’s leading specialists were trained the US at a hospital in Washington and the Columbian Women’s Medical Center.

Founding Director of the Association of Women’s Health and Mammography–Armenian-American benefactor Rita Palian and a group of American doctors will be visiting the center in September.

According to Oskanian–during the next year it is planned to turn the Association of Women’s Health and Mammography into a Center for Women’s Healthcare.
