YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Azerbaijani police ended a protest in front of the United States Embassy on August 3. The protest–which was organized by the "Freedom" political party of Azerbaijan–was against the establishment of Section 907 of the Freedom support act by the United States government. According to Section 907 the US government can not give any type of direct monetary assistance to Azerbaijan until it has ended its blockade of Armenia.
The "Touran" news agency reported that the protesters said that the United States only talks about ameliorating the situation in the region but does not take any step to actually accomplishing its goals. No injuries were reported.
