YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The head of Armenia’s Sports Department Armen Grigorian has been appointed Chief Referee at the Pan-Armenian Games. At Tuesday’s press conference he announced the list of the staff he will head. The referees are Slavik Ghazarian (Soccer)–Alexander Tsaturian (Tennis)–Zhora Baghdasarian (Basketball)–Vrezh Shahbazian (Chess)–Norik Shahbazian (Volleyball) and Artur Karamian (Track & Field) The board of referees also includes Jacques Hayrapetian (France)–Hrach Manoukian (Cyprus) and Hrach Ter-Sargsian (Canada).
Grigorian declared that all repairs to the stadiums that will host the Games will be completed by August 20. The Games will officially start on August 28. The largest delegation is expected from Los Angeles (115 athletes). Yerevan will be represented by 110 athletes. More than a hundred guests accompanying the athletes are expected to arrive in Yerevan.
