ARF Youth Jamboree Begins in Karabakh6. Russian Foreign Miister to Visit Caucasus

STEPANAKERT–The 6th Annual ARF Youth and Student Organization Pan-Armenian Jamboree began Sunday August 9. Some 310 members from 18 countries are participating in the Jamboree.

The first educational was given by Janna Kalsdian who presented the first days of the Karabakh Movement. After moving on to explain each phase of the movement she called out to all the participants to continue to support Karabakh–because she explained that Karabakh is not only for those Armenia’s who live their but for all Armenia’s living anywhere in the world. After the educational a question and answer session took place.

Karabakh’s Prelate Arch Bishop Bartev Mardirossian–Minister of Education Hamlet Krikorian and other government officials were present at a flag ceremony held on Sunday evening. The speaker of the evening was Vagharshag Sarkissian.

In his remarks Archbishop Bartev Mardirossian stated that the youth from the 18 different countries continue the struggle that was lead on the land they were on until all the goals of the Armenian people have been accomplished.

ARF Bureau member Apo Boghigian welcomed the youth and stated that they "should respect the blood shed for the freedom of this land and the youth that shed their blood. You should believe in the future of our country by continuing the struggle that those youth have started."

Welcoming remarks were made by Minister Hamlet Krikorian and ARF Central Committee member of Karabakh Krisha Hayrabedian.

Principle of the school of the village of Ashan and Karabakh ARF Central Committee member Tavit Ishkhanian–also welcomed the youth.

The Jamboree will continue for two more weeks and the participants are scheduled to visit the various regions of Karabakh.
