Karabakh to Mark 8th Year of Independence On Sept. 2

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–On September 2 the Nagorno Karabakh Republic will celebrate its 8th anniversary of independence. On this occasion the Karabakh government set up a commission for organizing festive arrangemen’s. The commission is headed by Minister of Culture–Youth Affairs and Sports Armen Sargssian. The program of the arrangemen’s was also approved.

The celebrations will be held throughout the country in cultural establishmen’s–military units and schools. Concerts and sporting competitions will also be held. Liturgy will be offered at churches–and the first lesson at schools will be dedicated to the 8th anniversary of Karabakh’s independence. Government officials and public representatives will visit the memorial complex in Stepanakert and the Karabakh president will hold a solemn reception.
