YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"If Karabakh’s deman’s are not satisfied–stability in the region will be impossible to reach," Karabakh Foreign Minister Naira Melkoumian said following her meeting with US Ambassador to Armenia Michael Lemmon and US Representative to the OSCE Minsk Group Carey Cavanaugh at the Karabakh Mission to Yerevan September 4.
"I told the new US representative to the Minsk Group that the Karabakh side does not expect any serious changes in the new proposals being drafted," said Melkoumian.
"We hope that certain changes can be gradually realized. On the whole–the most important principle is that of equality–and it is a position we will never abandon," she said.
She expressed satisfaction with the statement made by the new US representative to the Minsk Group–in which he pointed out that the US shares this viewpoint.
