11 of 204 Witnesses in Ter Sahakian Case Interrogated

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Eleven of the 204 witnesses in the so-called Armen Ter-Sahakian trial have been interrogated by now.

On September 13–commander of a military unit of the Internal Troops of Armenia Manvel Darbinian confirmed that he had known Armen Ter-Sahakian since 1992–when the latter was appointed chief of the intelligence department of the Internal Troops–and Darbinian was appointed Chief of the Armamen’s Service. The witness told the court that fulfilling the order of Internal Troops Department Chief Vahan Haroutiunian he provided Ter-Sahakian with 5 AKMS machine carbines. According to the witness–at that time in the newly formed internal troops system it was allowed to issue weapons without any written documentation.

Witness Ruben Alexanian–who served as an aide to the commander of the 7th Russian army–alleged that the Russian side got back the UAZ motor-car hijacked from the military unit located in Kanaker from a government-owned dacha. However–he said–the weapons that had been kept in the car–were not returned.
