50 Delegations to Attend Armenia Diaspora Forum

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Armenia-Diaspora Conference will open in Yerevan on September 22–with 50 delegations comprising more than 700 individuals in attendance.

The conference will hear reports on the following subjects: Armenia and the Diaspora: structural ties; The Armenian lobby and propaganda; Armenia and the Diaspora: cultural and social problems; Charity; Information and communication facilities; Prospects for economic development and the Diaspora’s role.

These topics were announced by presidential spokesman Vahe Gabrielian at a press briefing Tuesday. The spokesman informed the public that the opening remarks at the conference will be made by President Robert Kocharian–which will be followed by speeches by Catholicosal Locum Tenens Archbishop Nerses Pozapalian–Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I–Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Arkady Ghoukassian–representatives of the Armenian Catholic Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church–and representatives of a number of Armenian benevolent organizations.
