Armenians Ranked Among Glendale’s Top 103

GLENDALE–Some 13 Armenian-American individuals and organizations were ranked among Glendale’s Top 103 by the Glendale News-Press–which published the annual list in a special section of the newspaper Wednesday.

In the top 20–former Glendale Mayor Larry Zarian–Glendale Unified School District Assistant Superintendent Alice Petrossian and the Armenian National Committee were ranked 12th–14th and 15th respectively.

The 15-year-old Hoover High School student Avetis "Avo" Demirchyan–who was shot last year in front of Hoover High School was ranked 29th–while the Homenetmen received a ranking of 53.

Glendale City Councilman Rafi Manoukian was ranked 56th–while former Chamber of Commerce president and current Marcus Cable programming manager Berdj Karapetian was ranked 63rd.

Also making the list were the Armenian Relief Society at 82–former Glendale City Council candidate Bob Yusefian at 86–traffic and transportation administrator Jano Baghdanian at 88–Hoover High School junior Anita Siraki for her accomplishmen’s in track & field came in at 94–and the Crescenta Valley Town Council–presided over by Vasken Yardemian was ranked 99th.

Also appearing on the list was Asbarez English Editor Ara Khachatourian–who was ranked 50th.
