Armenian Egyptian Ties to Grow

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia views the development of relations with Arab countries as a key trend in its foreign policy–President Robert Kocharian said on September 23 when receiving Egypt’s outgoing ambassador Said Imam Said.

Kocharian highly assessed the two-years of activity and consistent efforts of the Egyptian diplomat. He pointed out that real bases for developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation have been created during Imam Said’s diplomatic mission in Armenia.

According to Said–the priority of his mission has been to stimulate economic cooperation. Commenting on the prospects of Armenian-Egyptian cooperation–the sides emphasized that in different areas there are serious possibilities for mutual beneficial cooperation. The two expressed confidence that bilateral ties will continue to successfully develop in the future.
