Prosecutor Concludes Margarian Investigation

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The investigations department of the Prosecutor General’s Office completed the preliminary investigation into the fact of inflicting heavy bodily injuries to deputy interior and national security minister–chief of the internal troops department Artsrun Margarian on the night of January 20–1998–as well as into the fact of finding his dead body with wounds in the vicinity of the Yerevan-Sisian driveway–the information and public relations department of the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

According to the same source–as a result of the preliminary investigation–charges of deliberately inflicting bodily injuries and misprisonment of plotted crimes were brought against a worker of the medical service of the Ministry of the Interior and National Security Hrant Papikian and the case was forwarded to the court of first instance of Yerevan’s Nor Nork and Avan districts–with the petition of convicting him on the grounds of count 105–part 1–and count 206 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
