YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian met with about twenty manufacturers and businessmen of Armenia on Monday.
Forcefully condemning the terrorist attack on the National Assembly on October 27–the manufacturers and businessmen expressed their belief that stability in the country will be maintained in the person of the president of the republic and the course of work will return to normal quickly.
The businessmen vowed their support for Kocharian and readiness to render all-out assistance to the authorities in defusing the crisis.
"The business world is behind the president," the meeting participants underlined. "At this difficult moment it is necessary to rally around the president to overcome the difficult situation through combined efforts."
Presenting his assessment of the current situation in the country–President Kocharian pointed out that the high-priority task now is to restore the functioning of government mechanisms in the country. The National Assembly and the Government will resume their normal functioning soon.
Saying that businesses are very sensitive to shocks–the businessmen asked the president to express his opinion regarding further economic policies.
President Kocharian assured the businesses that Armenia would be consistent in its policy of economic reforms and that this process is irreversible.
