National Assembly Leaders Receive Warm Welcome by World Leaders

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Catholicos of All Armenia’s Karekin II addressed a congratulatory telegram to the newly elected Chairman of the National Assembly–Armen Khachatrian. In his message His Holiness–in particular–said:

"In these crucial days for Armenia and the entire Armenian nation when reforms in all spheres of public life have become imperative–we wish you steady progress and achievemen’s in your dutiful mission in the name of our Motherland’s steady development and our nation’s advancement and prosperity."

The Armenian spiritual leader also sent his blessings to the newly elected deputy speakers of parliament Tigran Torosian and Gagik Aslanian.

Congratulating the Armenian Parliament Chairman on his election–Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Mikhail Krotov wished him sound health and fruitful work–and peace and unity to the Armenian people.

In his congratulatory message–Russian State Duma Chairman Gennady Seleznev expressed confidence that the newly elected leadership of the National Assembly of Armenia would continue the policy of strengthening Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and developing interparliamentary ties. Seleznev expresses his belief that the fraternal Armenian people would overcome the consequences of the tragic events.

Khachatrian also received congratulations from the Standing Committee of the Chinese Assembly of the People’s Republic of China Lee Peng. The message expresses readiness to develop and expand Armenian-Chinese interstate and interparliamentary ties. Lee Peng wished sound health to the Armenian National Assembly Chairman and prosperity and happiness to the Armenian people.
