Sargsyan Invited to Visit Russia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian Prime Minister Aram Sargsyan met Tuesday with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Anatoly Dryukov who on behalf of the Russian government invited the Armenian prime minister to visit Moscow at his convenience. .

The Russian ambassador presented his condolences to the Armenian prime minister in connection with the October 27 killings.

He pointed out that the tragedy occurred at the time when the Armenian government headed by Vazgen Sargsyan launched the program of leading the country out of the heavy economic situation.

Wishing Sargsyan success in his activities as Armenian prime minister–the Russian ambassador assured him that Russia was and remains Armenia’s friend and ally.

The sides addressed the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries as well as the problems of implementing the previously developed programs in the energy–transport and machine-building spheres.

The sides also discussed the preparations for the coming meeting of the Armenian-Russian Trade-Economic Commission.

The Armenian prime minister thanked Ambassador Dryukov for the support offered to Armenia in this difficult time and assured him that the policy pursued by Vazgen Sargsyan’s government will remain unchanged.
